The National Centre for Physics (NCP), located at the Quaid-i-Azam University Campus, is surrounded by the Margalla Hills on one side and the Rawal Lake on the other. A winding picturesque drive of 90 minutes along the Murree Road passing near the campus leads to the Murree Hills, and from there to Nathiagali, the well-known Hill resorts of Pakistan at altitudes of 7000 to 9000 feet.

NCP has been offering its facilities to host scientific events from the very beginning. It has become a special place for arranging both national and international scientific events. This helps connect Pakistani scientists, researchers, and students with the global scientific community and promotes a culture of science in the country. To fulfill this purpose, the NCP complex was designed to meet the requirements for hosting scientific events, and accommodating foreign guests, as well as students and researchers from distant regions. NCP offers the following facilities to host different events, and meetings:

  • Auditorium (285 seating capacity) with 16’x 20’ projector screen, audio-visual & webcasting/video-conferencing facilities
  • Lecture Theater (seating capacity: 67 persons) with video-conferencing facilities
  • Two Lecture Rooms (seating capacity: 45 persons) with video-conferencing facilities
  • Auditorium and Lecture Room at CoE NINVAST building
  • Computer Lab equipped with 50 computers
  • Cafeteria with a seating capacity of around 200 persons.
  • Accommodation Facilities:
    • BOQs: Furnished rooms (capacity: 1-3 persons per room)
    • MOQs: Furnished suits (capacity: 2- persons per room)
    • VIP Guest House: Furnished rooms (capacity: 1-2 persons per room)

In addition to these facilities, the NCP campus includes a scenic Main Lawn that serves various purposes, during several events organized at NCP. The campus also features a mosque, a water purification facility, and a branch of the Askari Bank (NCP Sub-branch). Recently, numerous sports facilities, including a foot sol ground, lawn tennis courts, badminton courts, table tennis, and a well-equipped gym have been developed on campus for the residents of NCP and visitor.
