Introduction

The National Centre for Physics has started a program to improve the knowledge base and teaching skills of educators at the Masters/BS level. The focus of the program is to address the issues being faced by teachers in concept development and in problem solving as a basic part of physics education. The two modules of the First Refresher Course were successfully implemented in August 2016 and August 2017, respectively. The First Refresher Course was attended by over a hundred teacher from all over the Pakistan and AJK. The course will consist of lectures, problem solving sessions and discussions with experienced faculty members from NCP, QAU, COMSATS and NUST.

The program has received support from the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and OIC Standing Committee on Science & Technology (COMSTECH).

  • This Module will cover 3 major disciplines at the M.Sc. level, namely
    • Mathematical Physics
    • Classical Mechanics
    • Electromagnetism
  • The course will be intensive with 6 interaction hours per day and selected participants would be expected to attend with full seriousness. Performance and participation will be assessed and Certificates of participation and achievement will be awarded.
  • Due to a limited number of seats, selection will be based on academic and teaching record
